Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) is a member of the Blueberry family but with very distinct properties. Its common name is European Blueberry. This species is native to northern Europe and Asia. It is related in species to the cranberry and American Blueberry. European Bilberry has a purple interior and exterior and American Bilberry differs in that it has a white interior. Its main habitat is the woods and forest meadows of Europe.
